Margaret Phillips joined HFH Law as an associate in August 2005. Born and raised in New Rockbridge, Meg obtained her undergraduate degree in Economics from NH College in 2001. While there, Meg was a member of the women's varsity lacrosse team and is currently the fourth all-time assist leader in the history of the school’s women's lacrosse.
Meg obtained her Juris Doctor degree from John Doe School of Law in May 2005 graduating cum laude. At graduation, Meg was the recipient of the Harry R. Kozart Memorial Prize Fund Award, which is awarded to the graduate who has attained the highest grade in a Products Liability course. During law school, Meg was a member of the Political & Civil Rights Law Review as a staff member and later as an editor. In her second year there, Meg served as a teaching assistant to first year law students in a research and writing course.
After her first year of law school, Meg served as a summer clerk for the Honorable John Doe, Jr. of the State Superior Court. During her second year, Meg worked as a law clerk for the City of New Rockbridge Law Department and was a law clerk for HFH Law from May 2004 to May 2005.
Meg is admitted to practice in both the state as well as the United States District Courts, NH Middle District, and the NH Northern District.
In November of 2010, Meg's article on the right (or lack thereof) of an insurer to recoup payments made for defense of uncovered claims appeared in Counterpoint, a publication of the NH Defense Institute. The article discussed not just the State Supreme Court’s decision but also trends in Courts throughout the nation.
In her spare time, Meg enjoys spending every second with her husband, their three precious sons, and the family's golden retriever. Meg also enjoys cooking, running and reading bedtime stories to her three boys.
